Product Specialist

Job Summary

To be responsible for conceptualizing and delivering the solution/product to the market in collaboration with internal and external (client) teams with a view to generating solution revenue for HCL

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SAP IBP for Supply Planning solutions.

• Lead and support Order‑Based Planning (OBP) scenarios, including:

• Demand‑driven order fulfillment

• Make‑to‑order and hybrid planning models

• Supply prioritization and pegging logic

• Implement and support Shelf Life Planning (SLP), including:

• Product shelf‑life constraints

• Expiry‑based inventory planning

• Minimum remaining shelf‑life checks

• Integration with batch‑managed products

• Configure and manage:

• Supply heuristics and optimization

• Planning operators and planning areas

• Time‑series and order‑based key figures

• Integrate SAP IBP with S/4HANA or ECC for:

• Master data (products, locations, BOMs, resources)

• Transactional data (sales orders, stock, planned orders)

• Support UAT, defect resolution, and go‑live activities.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate supply chain requirements into SAP IBP solutions.

• Provide production support and continuous improvement recommendations.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with SAP IBP for Supply

• Proven expertise in:

• Order‑Based Planning (OBP)

• Shelf Life Planning (SLP)

• Deep understanding of:

• Supply planning processes

• Inventory optimization

• Batch and shelf‑life managed materials

• Experience with:

• SAP IBP configuration (planning areas, key figures, operators)

• Integration between IBP and S/4HANA / ECC

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Other Requirements

Good to Have

• Experience with IBP Response & Supply,Control Tower, or Inventory Optimization

• SAP IBP certification

• Exposure to FMCG, Retail, CPG, or Food & Beverage industries

• Knowledge of SAP CPI‑DS integration
