Job Summary
As a Subject Matter Expert in Support & Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely resolution of escalated incidents while adhering to quality standards and service level agreements (SLAs). Your expertise in Oracle Administration and PostgreSQL will be instrumental in driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence. You will also mentor team members and facilitate effective communication with key stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

Improves and maintains customer satisfaction.

Suggests Database environment Gaps, Improvements and new technologies.

Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members.

Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating.
Skill Requirements
12+ year of hands-on experience working on Oracle database technologies.
Certification: -OCP EssentialOCE Desired

Proficient in managing Oracle EE RAC and Single instance databases - installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance, security, sysadmin functions and administration.

Proficient in managing Oracle Data Guard - installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance, DR Drills

Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate

Managing and troubleshooting

Recommend Server H/W, Oracle Server Editions for a new Build.

Research and Recommend Patch management for database/instance and Impact Analysis.

Initiate need and Impact Analysis for Database Migration/Upgrade

Technical Consultation to L2/L3 and Customer

Vendor Support and Interaction

Monitor and optimize Oracle database performance and capacity planning.

Troubleshoot database issues, maintain database systems availability and scalability.

Create and maintain Oracle databases required for development, testing, Integration, QA and production usage.

Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
-
The DBA should work closely with Server, Backup and storage administrator to meet Backup, Hardware, Storage and Operating system requirements.

The DBA should work closely customer to understand the requirements and standards.

Perform ongoing analysis and tuning of the Oracle database.
-
Install new versions of the Oracle database and its features and any other tools that access the Oracle database.

Application code promotion and migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle if applicable
-
Hands on experience with Exadata, Oracle RAC, Oracle Active Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication, OEM and other Oracle Products.

Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.

Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, replication and database related Tools.

Good knowledge of physical database design and responsible for the physical database design

Ability to perform database and operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.

Excellent skill in High availability, replication technologies and failover

Implement and enforce security requirements for Oracle databases.

Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies.

Provides technical support to application development teams.
-
Having experience of DR Solution/Implementation/Execution through various sync methods.

Designing strategy towards Capacity Management for DB tracks

Designing Oracle Server Security (Server hardening, Auditing, compliance)
-
Good knowledge of the windows and Unix operating system(s)

Weekly review of incidents/tickets

Weekly review of CHGs completed/Canceled.

Weekly review of recommendations made to the DBs
-
Automate routine DB jobs.
-
Optimize day-today DB activities.
-
Documentation and DB procedures write-up.
-
PostgreSQL knowledge is added advantage.
