Job Description: Program Director

Role Overview:

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing large, complex, cross‑functional programs that deliver strategic business outcomes. This role provides leadership, governance, stakeholder management, and execution oversight to ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define program vision, objectives, strategy, and success metrics.

  • Align program roadmap with organizational priorities.

  • Drive long‑term planning, resource forecasting, and capability requirements.

Governance & Execution Oversight:

  • Establish program governance frameworks.

  • Lead steering committees and executive reviews.

  • Oversee project managers and cross‑functional contributors.

Stakeholder & Communication Management:

  • Build strong relationships with executives and partners.

  • Ensure transparent communication and escalation handling.

  • Provide regular updates on risks, progress, and dependencies.

Financial & Resource Management:

  • Manage multi‑million‑dollar program budgets.

  • Oversee vendor contracts, procurement, and resource allocation.

  • Drive financial optimization and ROI.

Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Identify and mitigate program risks.

  • Ensure compliance with processes, controls, and security standards.

  • Implement quality assurance mechanisms.

Change Management & Organizational Readiness:

  • Lead change management and adoption initiatives.

  • Coordinate training, communication, and transition activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:

  • Define KPIs and OKRs.

  • Deliver executive dashboards and insights.

  • Ensure program outcomes deliver measurable value.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong program management expertise.

  • Experience with PMI, MSP, Agile methodologies.

  • Leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with program management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.

  • Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, MSP, SAFe.

  • Experience in digital or organizational transformation.

Key Responsibilities

1. To drive program implementation, identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth management of all the programs.
2. To manage program budget, operations & deliverables for multiple programs by removing roadblocks for smooth program management
3. To focus on relationship management with the concerned stakeholders and provide the necessary synergy to ensure alignment with the program delivery. Eg: Works closely with other technical advisors/ CTO/ CIO in customer organizations and external vendors as required to manage cross-functional prioritization, execution, issue/risk identification, and resolution
4. To establish, track & review KPI/Metrics and manage key Program Partners / Stakeholders interest of multiple programs.
5. To develop strategy and direction for meeting the overall objective.
