Job Summary
The Senior Administrator for Support & Operations plays a critical role in delivering advanced technical support and operational excellence. This position is pivotal in troubleshooting complex incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and maintain a robust security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support by performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions for complex incidents involving Oracle Administration and PostgreSQL, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with support teams to resolve complex tickets within agreed SLAs, ensuring seamless operations and a strong security posture across various database environments.
- Conduct knowledge base updates and manage documentation to improve operational efficiency and facilitate training for new analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor analysts to enhance their skills in troubleshooting and incident resolution, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Strive for positive customer experiences by achieving First Call Resolution targets, minimizing rejected resolutions and case reopens, and proactively addressing potential security threats.
- Hands On experience on HA, DR deployment on (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle and Postgre)
- Database Migration and Optimization expertise on (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle and Postgre)
- Database Performance management on (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle and Postgre)

Skill Requirements
The Database Administrator (L2) is responsible for managing, monitoring, and supporting databases in production environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, and reliability. This role works as a second-level support for database incidents and service requests, handling complex issues escalated from L1 teams. Database Operations & Support Manage day-to-day database operations (Oracle / SQL Server / MySQL, etc.) Provide L2 support for incidents, service requests, and changes Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and availability issues Ensure database uptime and SLA adherence 2. Incident & Problem Management Handle P2/P3/P4 incidents and support P1 incidents in coordination with MIM Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues Work closely with Major Incident Managers and infrastructure teams for resolution 3. Monitoring & Performance Tuning Monitor database performance using tools Identify bottlenecks and optimize queries/indexes Ensure database health and proactive issue detection 4. Backup & Recovery Perform and validate database backups (full, incremental, log backups) Execute database restore and recovery operations when required Ensure compliance with backup and DR policies 5. Security & Access Management Manage database user access and privileges Ensure compliance with security policies Monitor and audit database activities 6. Change & Release Support Support deployment activities, patching, and upgrades Validate scripts and database changes Coordinate with application and infra teams for releases 7. Documentation & Reporting Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and configuration documentation Update incident tickets and provide resolution details Generate reports for SLA/KPI tracking 8. Continuous Improvement Identify automation opportunities Improve database performance and reliability Suggest enhancements to database architecture and processes
