Job Summary

Own and execute the Security Transition Strategy and Plan covering:\r\n\r\n Scope confirmation\r\n Transition timelines & milestones\r\n Resource onboarding and ramp‑up\r\n Security tooling onboarding\r\n\r\n\r\n Establish transition governance model, cadence, RAID logs, and reporting\r\n Act as the primary interface with customer transition leads and security stakeholders\r\n Manage security knowledge transfer (KT) across in‑scope domains:\r\n\r\nSOC & SIEM operations\r\n Network & perimeter security\r\n Endpoint & EDR\r\n Vulnerability & IAM services\r\n\r\n\r\n Ensure completeness and sign‑off of:\r\n\r\n Runbooks\r\nSOPs / playbooks\r\n Security architecture & tooling documentation\r\n\r\n\r\n Certify KT completion using structured transition metrics and acceptance criteria\r\n Maintain security transition RAID register with focus on:\r\n\r\n Data protection risks\r\n Access risks\r\n Compliance and regulatory risks\r\n\r\n\r\n Drive mitigation actions and escalate unresolved risks through governance forums\r\n Ensure no increase in security risk posture during transition phases\r\n Lead security go‑live readiness review and executive sign‑off\r\n Manage hypercare period, ensuring:\r\n\r\nSLA readiness\r\n Major Incident preparedness\r\n Escalation and communication models are operational\r\n\r\n\r\n Formally hand over services to Security Service Delivery Manager / Operations with documented acceptance

This role drives operational excellence and delivery assurance for large-scale and complex programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client commitments. The position empowers teams, implements continuous process improvements, and leverages advanced program management methodologies to optimize performance, resolve issues, and deliver consistent value to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Security Transition Manager is accountable for the end‑to‑end transition of security services from the customer or incumbent provider into HCLTech, ensuring a controlled, compliant, and risk‑managed transition to steady state.\r\n The role acts as the single point of ownership for security transition governance, covering SOC, network security, endpoint security, IAM, vulnerability management, and compliance obligations.

1. Lead program management using advanced project management tools to define, monitor, and optimize operational processes, ensuring delivery of complex projects meets client SLAs and organizational objectives.
2. Apply DMO methodologies and analytics platforms to enhance management reporting, business process improvement, and organizational planning, driving data-driven decision-making across projects.
3. Direct and mentor project teams using collaboration and workflow management tools, fostering transparent communication and empowering team members to achieve project milestones and goals.
4. Identify and implement innovative process improvements and automation opportunities leveraging industry-standard PMO and DMO frameworks, advancing operational efficiency and organizational progress.
5. Engage with clients using structured feedback mechanisms and program dashboards to understand requirements, proactively resolve issues, and ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations.
6. Provide expert solutions by analyzing customer needs within the delivery environment, ensuring optimal results through tailored program management strategies.

Skill Requirements

Strong experience in security service transitions (SOC, MSS, Network Security, IAM)\r\n Solid understanding of:\r\n\r\n Security operations\r\nITSM / ITIL‑aligned processes\r\n Transition & transformation methodologies\r\n\r\n\r\n Proven stakeholder management across customer, vendors, and internal towers\r\n Experience with large, multi‑tower enterprise transitions\r\n Familiarity with Service Now or equivalent ITSM platforms\r\n Working knowledge of cloud security transitions (Azure / AWS)\r\n

1. Excellent Proficiency In Project Management Tools Such As Ms Project, Jira, Or Equivalent Platforms.
2. Advanced Capability In Process Optimization, Business Process Mapping, And Organizational Planning.
3. Strong Analytical Skills For Management Reporting And Data Driven Decision Making.
4. Excellent Leadership And Mentoring Skills For Guiding Multidisciplinary Project Teams.
5. Advanced Communication And Stakeholder Management Abilities For Transparent Client And Team Interactions.
6. Proven Expertise In Continuous Improvement Methodologies (E.G., Lean, Six Sigma) Within Large Scale Operations.

Other Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Science\r\nITIL Foundation or higher\r\nISO/IEC 27001 awareness or lead implementer (preferred)\r\n Security certifications (CISM / CISSP – desirable)\r\n12–18+ years overall IT experience\r\n5+ years in transition / transformation or security operations leadership roles

1. PMP, PRINCE2, or PgMP certification preferred.
2. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is optional but valuable
