Job Summary

Database Engineers\\r\\nSQL Server Database Engineer (Google Cloud)\\r\\n Role purpose\\r\\n\\r\\n Support the migration and operation of Microsoft SQL Server databases from on‑premises (VMware) to Google Cloud, ensuring secure, compliant, and stable database services for business‑critical applications.\\r\\n\\r\\n Key responsibilities\\r\\n\\r\\n Execute VMware → Google Cloud (GCE / VM‑based) migrations for SQL Server databases\\r\\n Support migration planning, execution, validation, and post‑migration stabilization\\r\\n Operate SQL Server databases in hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environments\\r\\n Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting\\r\\n Support database changes, releases, and incidents in line with ITSM processes\\r\\n Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams\\r\\n Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are updated\\r\\n Required skills and experience\\r\\n\\r\\n Strong hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer\\r\\n Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments\\r\\n Experience with cloud‑based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE)\\r\\n Experience with database migrations from on‑prem to cloud\\r\\n Knowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g. Always On, clustering)\\r\\n Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar)\\r\\nSQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise\\r\\n Nice to have\\r\\n\\r\\n Experience with hybrid cloud setups\\r\\n Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation concepts\\r\\n Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements

Key Responsibilities

Execute VMware → Google Cloud (GCE / VM‑based) migrations for SQL Server databases Support migration planning, execution, validation, and post‑migration stabilization Operate SQL Server databases in hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environments Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting Support database changes, releases, and incidents in line with ITSM processes Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are updated

Skill Requirements

Strong hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments Experience with cloud‑based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE) Experience with database migrations from on‑prem to cloud Knowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g. Always On, clustering) Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar) SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in distributed (nearshore/offshore) teams Comfortable working in structured governance and compliance frameworks Hands‑on, delivery‑oriented mindset
