Job Summary

• Windows & DC L2 : The Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing on prem and hybrid infrastructure built on Windows, Hyper V, and AWS, Azure platforms. The role focuses on availability, performance, automation, and operational excellence, supporting business critical workloads in a secure and resilient environment.
• System Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server operating systems (physical and virtual) and Windows Cluster.
• Active Directory (AD) & Group Policy (GPO): Managing user accounts, permissions, and security policies to control access to network resources.
• Security & Patching: Implementing security measures, running virus updates, and applying software patches to protect against vulnerabilities.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitoring system performance, utilizing tools like Performance Monitor to ensure optimal uptime and troubleshooting bottlenecks.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Performing regular DR and maintaining data integrity to ensure recovery in case of failures and resolve backup issues.
• Virtualization & Cloud: Managing virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) and handling hybrid cloud integrations, such as Azure.
• Technical Support: Troubleshooting server errors, network issues, and resolving Monitor patch compliance, configuration, and governance through Azure. Acts as the highest escalation point for complex infrastructure issues (OS crashes, performance bottlenecks, Windows Cluster issue). Conducts root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring incidents to implement permanent fixes

Key Responsibilities

• Expert Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Windows Server (various versions), PowerShell for automation, and network protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
• knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 and Active Directory.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and Azure , aws infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Management: Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and server hardware (e.g., HP iLO, Dell iDRAC).
• Security Practices: Knowledge of security hardening and compliance standards. Handle VM provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning, Troubleshooting) • Esxi and VM performance • Deploy, operate, and maintain AWS, Azure Cloud / Azure Stack HCI cluster • Register and manage Azure Arc–enabled AWS, Azure Cloud clusters and servers • Monitor compliance, patch status, and configuration through Azure • Support Azure based monitoring and governance policies • Coordinate with cloud teams for hybrid operational tasks • Integrate on Prem infrastructure with Azure services • Manage cluster health, upgrades, and high availability • Manage Physical Hardware HP one view, Dell open Manage. Infrastructure & OS Management • Administer and support Windows Server environments • Perform server build, upgrades, patching • Ensure system security, stability, and performance Firmware & Patching Responsibilities • Own end to end lifecycle patching of:
• Hyper-V (host, cluster aware patching, baselines) • AWS, Azure Cloud / Azure Stack HCI OS and system updates • Firmware for Dell and HPE servers (BIOS, iDRAC/iLO, storage controllers) • Plan and execute non standard and high risk patching activities • Manage Azure Arc patch orchestration, reporting, and compliance • Perform impact analysis, rollback planning, and root cause analysis Troubleshooting & Support • Troubleshoot cluster, storage, networking, and VM issues • Perform root cause analysis for production incidents • Coordinate with hardware vendors (Dell/HPE) and Microsoft support • Support incident and problem management processes Automation & Efficiency • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation for: o VM provisioning o Monitoring and health checks o Patch reporting and routine operations • Reduce manual effort and improve operational reliability through automation Operations & Governance • Monitor infrastructure health and availability • Support incident, change, and problem management processes • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams • Collaborate with security, network, and application teams

Skill Requirements

Windows & DC Expert:

• Proven experience in VMware and Hyper V environments • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure Cloud (Azure Stack HCI) • Strong hands on experience with Windows Server • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills • Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and networking basics Service Management:
• Categorize and prioritize end-user support requests and service requests.
• Utilize Service Now ticketing system to track tickets and provide status updates.
• Follow and update Knowledge Base (KB) articles for issue resolution.
• Should have Service-Now, ITIL and change Management Process Knowledge.

Training and Documentation:

• Ready to adopt New technologies Like AWS, Azure Cloud, hyper-V etc..
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
• Certified or attend Training on VMware, Azure, AWS, Windows, Hyper-V, SCSE,VCP • Can create and update RUN Book and other SOP • Customer Service:
• Take ownership of issues from end-to-end to reach a resolution.
• Provide consistent and excellent customer support to all staff levels.
• Maintain a positive attitude and high level of professionalism even under stress.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts for complex problem resolution.
• Communicate effectively with end users, managers, and local technical staff.
• Additional Duties:
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Handle challenging rapid-response user support.
• Balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks efficiently.
• Provide Meeting room Support as when needed. Shift Coverage:
• Standard Support Model: Weekday coverage during standard business hours.
• Flexible to work 24x7 Shift Support Model: Rotational shifts (night, weekend, and holiday coverage) as per site/business need.
• Flexible working during weekend in case any requirement
