About the role
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop packaging solutions (cartons, labels, inserts, pallets, etc.) based on product and customer requirements Analyze packaging requirements, including protection, cost, sustainability, and manufacturability Create 2D/3D packaging designs using CAD tools and prepare detailed engineering drawings Develop prototypes and conduct testing to validate packaging performance under transportation and handling conditions Perform cost analysis and identify opportunities for packaging optimization and cost reduction Select appropriate packaging materials considering durability, cost, and environmental impact Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and suppliers)Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications Review and improve existing packaging designs for performance and efficiency Support problem-solving for packaging-related issues and implement corrective actions
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of packaging materials (corrugation, plastics, labels, foam, etc.)Experience in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Creo, , etc.)Understanding of packaging testing standards and ISTA guidelines Cost optimization and value engineering mindset Good understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain constraints Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and stakeholder management
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Packaging Engineering / Industrial Engineering4–8 years of relevant experience in packaging design and development
