Technical Programme Manager (TPM) / Programme Manager – Data & ETL Transformation

Role Summary
The TPM will lead the end-to-end delivery of the Data Stage upgrade programme, covering legacy estate assessment, upgrade planning, migration execution, testing, cutover, and hypercare. This role is expected to have strong delivery leadership experience in data platform / ETL / data warehouse programmes, with the ability to manage complex dependencies across infrastructure, application, data, operations, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead programme planning and execution for Data Stage version upgrades from 8.x / 9.x to 11.x and associated migration workstreams.

• Drive governance across project phases including discovery, planning, migration, testing, cutover, hypercare, and support transition.

• Build and maintain integrated programme plans covering technical tracks, business readiness, environment dependencies, data validation, and release milestones.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Data Stage SME, Data Stage Admin, developers, cloud engineers, QA, BA, DevOps, and support teams.

• Track programme risks, blockers, interdependencies, and escalations; ensure timely mitigation and decision-making.

• Manage stakeholder communication, steering reviews, progress reporting, and delivery dashboards.

• Ensure strong control over scope, effort prioritisation, resource ramp-up, and delivery quality.

• Oversee cutover readiness, rollback planning, parallel run planning, and stabilisation governance.

• Support client-facing discussions on migration sequencing, transition readiness, and managed services operating model.

Skill Requirements

• Strong experience managing data / ETL / data integration / migration programmes.

• Proven experience in large enterprise transformation programmes involving multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

• Good working understanding of IBM Data Stage, ETL migration, data validation, release/cutover planning, and support transition.

• Strong stakeholder management, governance, status reporting, and risk management capability.

Other Requirements

• Experience in Data Stage upgrade or ETL modernisation engagements.

• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Databricks, hybrid migration, and managed services.

• Experience handling geographically distributed delivery teams.

Suggested Experience

• 14+ years overall, with at least 5+ years in programme leadership for data / ETL initiatives.
