SME - SharePoint Administration

Job Summary

• Core Experience • Minimum 8+ years of hands on experience administering Microsoft Share Point Server (on premise) environments, with strong focus on Share Point Server 2019.
• Proven experience supporting large, enterprise scale Share Point farms (single/multi farm, multi tier architecture).
• Experience operating Share Point in production environments with strict availability, security, and change management controls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure Timely Resolution And Quality Compliance Of Escalated Sharepoint Tickets And Incidents According To Service Level Agreements, Maintaining High Standards Of Customer Satisfaction.

2. Mentor Sharepoint Administrators And Team Members, Preparing Standard Operating Procedures And Maintaining Effective Documentation To Promote Knowledge Sharing Within The Team.

3. Validate Change Order Implementation Plans And Human Error Compliance, Actively Participating In Capacity Planning To Support Operational Readiness.

4. Actively Engage In Customer Meetings To Understand Issues Faced By Users, Ensuring Positive Feedback And Satisfaction Through Effective Problem Resolution.

5. Conduct Thorough Analyses, Including Root Cause And Trend Analysis, And Prepare Reports To Present Performance Insights To Key Business Stakeholders, Facilitating Informed Decision-Making.

Skill Requirements

Share Point Administration & Operations • Strong hands on expertise in: o Share Point farm administration, including Central Administration and service applications o Site collections, sites, lists, libraries, and templates o Permissions management (AD groups, Share Point groups, inheritance, least privilege models) o User Profile Service (UPS) configuration, synchronization, and troubleshooting o Managed Metadata Service, Search Service, Secure Store, State Service, and other core service applications • Experience handling user access issues, permission corruption, profile resets, and access denied scenarios. ________________________________________ Patching, Maintenance & Upgrades • Hands on experience with: o Share Point Server 2019 patching (Cumulative Updates / Security Updates) o Pre patch validation, patch sequencing, and post patch health checks o Coordinating patching with SQL Server and Windows Server updates o Troubleshooting post patch issues (search failures, timer jobs, service outages). ________________________________________ Automation & PowerShell • Strong hands on experience using Share Point Management Shell / PowerShell, including: o Farm health checks o Bulk site and permission operations o Service application administration o Scripted backup, restore, and cleanup tasks • Ability to write, modify, and maintain custom PowerShell scripts for operational automation. ________________________________________ Backup, Restore & DR • Proven experience with: o Farm level, web application, and site collection backups and restores o SQL level and Share Point native backup/restore strategies o Supporting DR testing and recovery activities o Troubleshooting restore failures and content database issues. ________________________________________ IIS, Windows & SQL Server • Strong working knowledge of: o IIS administration for Share Point (application pools, bindings, certificates, authentication settings) o Windows Server administration related to Share Point farms o SQL Server used by Share Point:  Content databases, service application databases  Basic performance troubleshooting (locks, growth, capacity planning)  Coordinating with DBAs on maintenance and failovers • Ability to analyze ULS logs, IIS logs, Event Viewer, and SQL errors for root cause analysis. ________________________________________ Monitoring & Troubleshooting • Experience supporting Share Point incidents and outages, including: o Performance degradation o Search and crawl failures o Authentication and access issues o Timer job and service failures • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (APM, synthetic monitoring, log aggregation such as Splunk is a plus). ________________________________________ Security & Compliance • Experience implementing and supporting: o Share Point security baselines and hardening standards o Permission reviews, audits, and remediation o Handling audit or compliance driven requests related to Share Point data access • Understanding of enterprise change control and incident management processes.
