Job Description: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with over 10+ years of hands-on expertise in managing large-scale Oracle environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing database performance, availability, upgrades, and security in a mission-critical 24x7 production environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and support large-scale Oracle database environments (1000+ databases) in a 24/7 production setup Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations (10g, 11g, 12c to 19c) Administer Oracle RAC, Exadata, and Grid Infrastructure Environment Implement and maintain High Availability solutions including Data Guard (Physical & Logical) and Oracle Golden Gate replication Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and user-managed backups Perform database cloning, patching, and refresh activities for both databases and applications Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning and resource analysis Analyze and resolve database issues, including locks, blocking sessions, and system bottlenecks Manage tablespace growth, storage optimization, and capacity planning Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell scripting) for operational efficiency Ensure database security through user roles, privileges, and compliance standards Generate reports and forecasts related to database performance and growth Collaborate with application and development teams for performance improvements and issue resolution Required Skills & Experience 10–11+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA Strong expertise in: Oracle Database (9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c) Oracle RAC & Exadata Data Guard and Golden Gate RMAN backup & recovery Hands-on experience with: Database migration and upgrades Performance tuning and SQL optimization ERP databases (Oracle EBS R12 preferred) Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments Knowledge of shell scripting Experience in managing large enterprise environments (100+ databases)
