Job Summary

  • Infrastructure Architect Role Overview The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing enterprise infrastructure solutions across compute, endpoint, network, and monitoring domains. This role drives strategic architecture decisions, ensures alignment with business objectives, and delivers scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure platforms. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, and customer stakeholders to translate requirements into architecture designs and ensure successful implementation across enterprise environments. This aligns with architect-level responsibilities involving strategy, stakeholder engagement, and solution design across infrastructure domains. Key Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure Architecture & Strategy • Define end-to-end infrastructure architecture covering compute, endpoint, network, and monitoring ecosystems.
  • Develop future-state architecture roadmaps aligned with transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Provide governance and oversight on solution design and implementation. 2. Compute & Endpoint Architecture • Design and implement hardened Dell compute environments ensuring high availability and enterprise-grade security.
  • Define architecture standards for endpoint platforms including: o Thin Clients o Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) o PC-over-IP (PCoIP) protocols • Establish device lifecycle, performance optimization, and security controls for end-user computing. 3. Monitoring, Logging & Observability • Define and implement enterprise logging and monitoring architecture.
  • Lead evaluation and deployment of replacement solution for Syslog Watcher, ensuring improved scalability and centralized logging.
  • Ensure monitoring frameworks provide real-time visibility, analytics, and proactive incident detection. 4. Network & Device Integration • Provide architecture solutions for SNMP enablement across substation devices and infrastructure components.
  • Ensure integration of OT/IT environments with secure communication protocols.
  • Define monitoring and telemetry standards for edge and field devices. 5. Solution Design & Validation • Identify, design, and review architectural test scripts to validate solution performance, resilience, and security.
  • Ensure architecture compliance with enterprise standards through structured validation processes.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and solution walkthroughs. 6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management • Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
  • Lead customer discussions, workshops, and architecture reviews.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple programs and workstreams. 7. Governance, Security & Compliance • Ensure infrastructure designs meet security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Define hardening, access control, and compliance frameworks for infrastructure systems.
  • Drive best practices in infrastructure resilience, disaster recovery, and operational excellence. Key Skills & Experience Technical Expertise • Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture (Compute, Network, Endpoint) • Dell Compute Platforms & Hardware Architecture • VDI / Thin Client / PCoIP technologies • Monitoring & Logging solutions (Syslog, SIEM tools) • SNMP protocols and device integration (especially industrial/substation environments) • Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure (Azure/AWS preferred) • Security and Infrastructure Hardening practices Architectural Capabilities • Solution design and architecture documentation • Technology evaluation and roadmap creation
