Engineer - IT security

Job Summary

This role contributes to the implementation and maintenance of secure IT solutions by developing, updating, and documenting code under supervision. The individual supports the team in ensuring that assigned tasks comply with organizational security practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop code modules using basic IT security principles and scripting tools to meet project specifications and organizational standards.

2. Apply fundamental security configurations and controls when maintaining or updating existing code to address identified issues.

3. Implement new client-requested features by following established IT security guidelines and supervised coding practices.

4. Assist in preparing and updating technical documentation to reflect security-related changes and code modifications.

5. Participate in team discussions and code reviews to improve understanding of secure coding practices and IT security tools.

Skill Requirements

1. Basic understanding of IT security concepts and secure coding practices.

2. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for security automation tasks.

3. Fundamental knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git.

4. Basic exposure to security controls and configurations in Windows or Linux environments.

5. Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation with attention to detail.

Other Requirements

1. CompTIA Security+ certification (optional but valuable).
