Job Summary
Job Title
Thermal & Power Tuning / Validation Engineer
Role Overview:
We are seeking a strong individual contributor to join our Thermal and Power Engineering team, focused on tuning and validation of consumer electronics such as laptops and tablets. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams to configure, tune, validate, and debug thermal and power frameworks on in‑development devices, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and validate thermal and power management frameworks on pre‑production and development devices
Perform tuning and validation of supported thermal and power algorithms across various system scenarios
Analyze test results and create clear engineering documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Debug and resolve issues across the Windows ecosystem, including drivers, firmware, and system-level components
Collaborate with cross‑functional subsystem teams (FW, driver, silicon, OS, validation) to identify root causes and drive issue resolution
Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency, repeatability, and coverage of validation workflows
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of thermal mitigation techniques
Basic knowledge of passive and active cooling components used in consumer laptops and tablets
Familiarity with modern software‑based thermal management solutions
Foundational knowledge of Windows driver and firmware architecture
Experience using Windows debugging and profiling tools (e.g., WPA, ETW, or similar)
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand the mathematical principles behind control algorithms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross‑team collaboration
Good to Have / Preferred Skills:
Scripting experience using Python and/or PowerShell
Operating system architecture knowledge (Windows and/or Linux)
Hands‑on experience working with Intel and/or Qualcomm So Cs

Passionate about optimizing system performance, thermal stability, and power efficiency in consumer devices
Key Responsibilities
1. Create And Review Test Cases Based On Functional Specifications And Software Requirement Specifications, Ensuring Comprehensive Coverage Of Testing Scenarios For Embedded Systems.
2. Execute Functionality Testing In Alignment With The Test Plan And Respective Test Cases, Utilizing Python For Automation Where Applicable To Enhance Efficiency.
3. Contribute To The Development Of Test Plans, Ensuring They Accurately Reflect The Requirements And Scope Of The Work Assigned To The Team.
4. Track Test Coverage, Defect Density, And Other Relevant Metrics, Compiling And Publishing Progress Reports To Inform Stakeholders Of Testing Outcomes.
5. Coordinate Discussions With The Testing Team And Interact With Clients To Provide Updates On Testing Progress And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
Skill Requirements
1. Strong Understanding Of Embedded Device Testing Principles And Methodologies.
2. Proficient In Python For Test Automation And Script Development.
3. Familiarity With Testing Tools And Frameworks Relevant To Embedded Systems.
4. Solid Knowledge Of Software Testing Life Cycle (Stlc) And Quality Assurance Best Practices.
5. Excellent Communication Skills For Effective Coordination With Team Members And Clients.
Other Requirements
1. Optional But Valuable: Istqb Certified Tester Or Similar Software Testing Certification.
