Job Summary

Position Overview Applies technical communication skills to design and develop information solutions for our products to assist customers in achieving their business objectives. Understands the customers business objectives and how our products can help meet those business objectives. Requires minimal direction on projects and engages in strategic problem-solving, projects, and programs. Mentors other information developers. The position is part of an information development team reporting to an information development manager. Responsibilities • Understands the customers business and how our products fit into the customers business • Conducts audience and user business task analyses and applies the results to design user-centered user-assistance products • Creates realistic examples and data for use in our content • Defines content scope and plans for new and existing information solutions • Interacts with customers, product managers, and SMEs to learn customer needs, and to test and validate user-assistance products • Expands technical expertise and broadens abilities to perform multiple roles within the organization • Understands and successfully uses XML development tools and environment to create user assistance products • Becomes increasingly competent in various aspects of information development including product knowledge and application, research, user studies, information or instructional design, information mapping, media selection, graphics and multimedia development, content authoring, content reuse, testing and implementation • Mentors or leads other information developers on specific assignments or projects Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • 5+years of experience in technical communication with strong exposure to enterprise software documentation • Strong technical aptitude: Ability to understand relatively complex technical concepts • Strong AI proficiency: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools to streamline content creation, improve documentation quality, and increase productivity • Strong communication skills: Ability to crisply explain technical concepts from the perspective of the audience that needs to apply and use the concepts in their jobs • Excellent interviewing and research skills • Excellent interpersonal and team skills Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Degree or diploma in engineering, computer science, or science • Experience working in the manufacturing industry • Exposure to or experience in PLM concepts and software Job Purpose: The Design Lead is responsible for guiding a dynamic team of designers to deliver effective visual communication solutions that align with business objectives. Skill Requirements
