Senior Engineer - Hardware Asset Management

Job Summary

The Level 2 Hardware Asset Management and Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing L2 operational support and lifecycle governance for end‑user computing and approved OT hardware assets, along with associated enterprise applications. The role sits within the Application Operations team and ensures asset availability, compliance, cost control, and application stability across enterprise and manufacturing environments.\r\n This position owns the end‑to‑end hardware asset lifecycle, including catalog management, procurement coordination, leasing administration, warranty handling, staging, configuration, deployment, and retirement of devices such as scanners, industrial tablets, handheld devices, mobile computers, vehicle‑mounted devices, label printers, and end‑user computing hardware. The role also provides L2 application support, handling incidents, service requests, RCA, and change support escalated from L1, while ensuring adherence to ITIL, CMDB, audit, and licensing requirements.\r\n The engineer acts as a key coordination point between procurement, vendors/OEMs, L3 teams, and business stakeholders, maintaining accurate asset records, supporting audits, and ensuring uninterrupted operations through structured processes, documentation, and on‑site or remote support when required.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Asset Management:\r\n Manage end-to-end hardware asset lifecycle including procurement support, inventory, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.\r\n Maintain accurate asset records in asset management systems and CMDB.\r\n Ensure compliance with asset governance, audit, and licensing requirements.\r\n\r\n Hardware Catalogue Management for approved OT devices and accessories: Maintain an up-to-date catalogue of OT hardware type (Label Scanners, Industrial Tablets, Handheld devices, Mobile Computers, Vehicle Mounted Devices, Label Printers). Ensure specification and pricing are up to date, devices are compatible with system application.\r\n\r\n Order and Delivery Management including supplier coordination and logistics:\r\n Coordinate with procurement team for release of orders to OEM/vendor. Tracking the order, coordination with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery and issuance to the end-users.\r\n\r\n Hardware Leasing Administration covering contracts, renewals, and lease closures:\r\n Manage hardware asset leasing from contract setup to renewals and end-of-lease activities, ensuring timely tracking, compliance, cost control, and smooth transitions for returns, extensions, or replacements in line with business needs.\r\n\r\n Warranty and Guarantee Management for repairs and replacements: Coordinate for warranty claims, RMA and repairs through OEM and vendors.\r\n\r\n Staging (CUSTOMER Germany and UK offices) and Parcel Delivery\r\no Inspecting and preparing hardware\r\no Installing and configuring operating systems\r\no Applying profiles and configuring device modes (such as Kiosk, Shared, or Dedicated)\r\no Loading applications and software\r\no Configuring devices\r\no Asset tagging and inventory control\r\n• Application Support (L2):\r\n Provide L2 support for enterprise applications and end-user computing applications.\r\n Ensure application availability, performance, and controlled lifecycle management.\r\n

Skill Requirements

Hands-on experience in Hardware Asset Management and end-user computing support.\r\n• Strong understanding of hardware and asset lifecycle management processes.\r\n• Experience providing L2 application support in an enterprise environment.\r\n• Good knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management (ITIL).\r\n• Experience with ITSM and Asset Management tools (e.g., Service Now, CMDB).\r\n• Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware, OS, and application issues.\r\n• Strong documentation, audit, and compliance awareness.\r\n
