About the role

Job Summary

The role should have a very strong background in the Linux OS and building systems in an enterprise.

Principal Technical Responsibilities:

  • A strong background working with the Red Hat Linux Operating System:

Must know the various aspects of the build process

Operating System installation and configuration

Networking – kickstart, bootparams, interface and routing table configuration

Storage technology – Multipathing/Internal disks/SAN and NAS – LVM etc. etc.

YUM/DNF server configuration and RPM management User and Application Support

Creation and management of user accounts

  1. Account creation

  2. Environments

  3. Home directories

  4. Shells

  5. sssd protocol

Automounter

Linux Security

Patching

  1. Security Updates

SSH Configuration SUDO – Managing SUDO files Managin

users and groups in a secure manner . File Systems

n1. Permissions – How to organize and configure UNIX permissions and groups in a secure way against a given directory structure Kernel and OS hardening and security paradigmsi. Understanding of how internet / TCP/IP protocols work. Various other aspects of systems administration\\r\\ni. Expertise with UNIX –

  1. Backup Technologies

  2. DNS

  3. NTP

  4. Networking (TCP/IP)

Automation Experience automating infrastructure and software deployments with the following technologies:

  1. Ansible and/or Ansible Tower for configuration management

  2. Terraform Opensource/Terraform Enterprise or Cloud for IAC (Infrastructure as Code)

Git for CVS:

  1. Strong Bash for scripting and integrating different systems

Cloud Experience - knowledge of the AWS cloud and virtualization technologies and patterns

Ec2/EBS/Auto-scaling, load balancing, working with immutable images, building/rebuilding infrastructure

Production Support Participating in on on-call rotation Dealing with incidents,Capacity Planning

Performance monitoring Troubleshooting system/network related issues Related Job abilities and attributes:
