About the role

Job Summary

The Oracle RAC Administrator (E2) is responsible for day-to-day operational support, monitoring, and standard changes for Oracle RAC and single-instance databases in a 24×7 enterprise environment. The role executes defined procedures and works under guidance of senior DBAs (E3/L3) to ensure availability, stability, and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2 operational support for Oracle RAC and non-RAC databases, including incident handling and service requests. Monitor database health, capacity, and availability using OEM Cloud Control and standard monitoring tools. Perform routine DBA activities such as DB startups/shutdowns, tablespace monitoring, user management, and job checks under SOPs. Execute backup and restore operations using RMAN and support

Skill Requirements

Oracle DB versions: 11g / 12c / 19c (RAC & Single Instance). Core Oracle RAC knowledge: instances, nodes, basic cluster awareness

The role executes defined procedures and works under\\r\\nguidance of senior DBAs (E3/L3) to ensure availability, stability, and SLA compliance.\\r\\n Key Responsibilities\\r\\n Provide L2 operational support for Oracle RAC and non-RAC databases, including\\r\\nincident handling and service requests\\r\\n Monitor database health, capacity, and availability using OEM Cloud Control and\\r\\nstandard monitoring tools\\r\\n Perform routine DBA activities such as DB startups/shutdowns, tablespace\\r\\nmonitoring, user management, and job checks under SOPs\\r\\n Execute backup and restore operations using RMAN and support DR activities led\\r\\nby senior DBAs\\r\\n Support patching (PSU/CPU), upgrades, and migrations as per approved change\\r\\nplans\\r\\n Assist in incident investigation and RCA documentation, escalating complex\\r\\nissues appropriately\\r\\n Adhere strictly to change management, security, and audit compliance\\r\\nrequirements\\r\\n Operational Scope (E2 Band)\\r\\n Handles standardized and repeatable Oracle RAC operational tasks\\r\\n Works within pre-defined architecture, tools, and procedures\\r\\n Escalates advanced performance, cluster, or design issues to E3/L3 RAC SMEs\\r\\n Participates in on-call and o􀆯-hours support as part of global coverage model\\r\\n Technical Skills – Mandatory\\r\\n Oracle DB versions: 11g / 12c / 19c (RAC & Single Instance)\\r\\n Core Oracle RAC knowledge: instances, nodes, basic cluster awareness\\r\\n Backup & Recovery: RMAN (backup, restore, validation)\\r\\n Monitoring: Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM Cloud Control)\\r\\n OS basics: Linux/Unix commands relevant to DBA operations\\r\\n Technical Skills – Desirable\\r\\n Exposure to Data Guard monitoring and switchovers (with guidance)\\r\\n Basic performance analysis using AWR / ASH reports\\r\\n Awareness of patching cycles, vulnerability remediation, and audit controls\\r\\n Experience & Qualification\\r\\n 3–6 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA\\r\\n Experience supporting enterprise or manufacturing workloads preferred\\r\\n Suitable for E2 band per internal role validation framework (not an architectural or\\r\\nlead role)
