Azure Senior Data Lead

Job Summary

We are looking for an expert level SQL Developer who can design data solutions using Data Lake query engines, that guarantee stability, reliability, and performance. Our focus is building Data Lake based large data and analytics platform(s) using Dremio as a query engine, and multi-layered semantic approach to process and present data for varied usage.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the design, development, and optimization of complex ANSI SQL query using Dremio as a Data Lake query engine to meet business requirements efficiently.

Proactively identifying and addressing SQL query performance issues to ensure scalability and responsiveness.

Planning and executing SQL, PL/SQL codes across ANSI SQL compliant query engines to ensure seamless transitions, optimized design, and performance.

Understand and implement robust access control mechanisms, security protocols and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory adherence.

Investigating and simplifying complex data structures, leveraging expertise and experience in creating business friendly semantic view of data.

Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team in best practices around SQL, its usage and implementation on Big Data and Data Lake query engines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with organizational goals and data strategies.

Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database architectures, processes, and best practices.

Sharing knowledge and mentor junior developers.

Make changes to code, perform unit testing, and assist the business team in user acceptance testing,

Skill Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, building and/or enhancing large data warehousing solutions, preferably in Azure cloud environment.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with advanced SQL (expert knowledge required on SQL)

• 3+ years using data lake query engines like Dremio or similar semantic query engines.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.

• 1. Proficiency in azure data factory (adf) and azure databricks for data integration and processing.

• Strong skills in writing complex sql queries for data manipulation and analysis.

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SQL, Oracle, or Python would be a plus.
