GCP Application Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Looker / Looker ML, and Qlik Sense to design, build, and optimize scalable analytics and business intelligence solutions. The role involves end-to-end data engineering, semantic modeling, dashboard development, and enabling self-service analytics for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

GCP Data Engineering:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Big Query, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc
Work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple business sources
Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and cost-efficient querying in Big Query
Implement data security, access controls, and governance best practices
Collaborate with upstream application teams and downstream analytics stakeholders

Looker & LookML Development:

Build and maintain Looker semantic models using LookML
Design reusable dimensions, measures, explores, and derived tables
Optimize LookML for performance and maintainability
Partner with business users to translate requirements into analytics-ready models
Manage Looker content, permissions, user access, and version control
Support ad-hoc analysis and enable self-service BI

Qlik Sense Development:

Design and develop interactive dashboards and applications in Qlik Sense
Implement complex data models using Qlik associative engine
Develop reusable Qlik scripts for data ingestion and transformation
Optimize Qlik applications for performance and usability
Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights

Collaboration & Governance:

Work closely with product owners, analysts, and business teams
Document data models, business definitions, and analytics standards
Support UAT, production deployments, and ongoing enhancements
Contribute to best practices for BI visualization and analytics design

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Big Query, Cloud Storage, Dataflow / Dataproc

Advanced Looker / LookML experience:

Strong Qlik Sense development experience:

Proficiency in SQL (advanced level)
Experience with data modeling (dimensional / analytical)
Understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks
Experience with version control (Git)

Preferred / Good to Have

Python or scripting experience for data pipelines
Experience with CI/CD for analytics platforms
Healthcare / Finance / Enterprise analytics domain exposure
Experience working in Agile delivery models

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design and development of scalable applications on google cloud platform.

2. Collaborate with cross functional teams to define technical solutions and architecture for gcp projects.

3. Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and provide technical guidance to the development team.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to gcp application development.

5. Stay updated on the latest gcp services, features, and best practices to optimize application performance.

6. Implement security measures and compliance standards in gcp applications.

7. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in google cloud platform services such as compute engine, app engine, cloud storage, bigquery, and cloud functions.

2. Experience with programming languages like python, java, or node.js for gcp application development.

3. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containers, and container orchestration tools like kubernetes on gcp.

4. Handson experience in designing and implementing restful apis and integrating third-party services on gcp.

5. Knowledge of ci/cd pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure as code (iac) on gcp.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative environment.

7. Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, present technical solutions, and lead discussions on gcp application development strategies.

Other Requirements

1.Google Professional Cloud Developer certification is preferred.
