Job Summary

Job Title: Big Fix L3 – Endpoint Management Engineer\\r\\n Role Level: L3 (Senior Engineer / SME)\\r\\n Function: End User Computing / Endpoint Management

Role Summary:

The Big Fix L3 Engineer is the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing HCL Big Fix for enterprise-scale endpoint management. The role supports Windows and non Windows platforms (macOS/Linux) with strong emphasis on patch compliance, automation, scripting, and complex issue resolution, while providing technical leadership and mentoring L2 teams.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities\\r\\n• Act as L3 escalation point and platform SME for Big Fix-related incidents, deployments, and agent issues.\\r\\n• Design and govern OS and application patching strategy, ensuring SLA, security, and audit compliance.\\r\\n• Develop and maintain custom Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, and software distribution packages at scale.\\r\\n• Lead automation and self-healing initiatives to reduce manual effort and incident recurrence.\\r\\n• Manage and support Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints, including packaging, remediation, and compliance checks.\\r\\n• Perform root cause analysis for deployment failures, agent health issues, and patch non-compliance.\\r\\n• Optimize Big Fix platform performance (relays, content efficiency, action success rates).\\r\\n• Define and maintain standards, SOPs, and runbooks; mentor and guide L2 engineers.\\r\\n• Partner with Security and Vulnerability teams to translate CVE findings into Big Fix remediation plans.\\r\\n• Provide compliance and health reporting for leadership and audit readiness.

Skill Requirements

Required Technical Skills\\r\\n Big Fix\\r\\n• Deep hands-on experience with HCL Big Fix Console, Web Reports, Relevance, Action Script, Fixlet Debugger\\r\\n• Strong knowledge of Big Fix architecture (Root Server, Relays, scalability, troubleshooting)\\r\\n Automation & Scripting\\r\\n• Advanced PowerShell scripting (mandatory)\\r\\n• Working knowledge of Bash/Shell and/or Python\\r\\n Endpoint Platforms\\r\\n• Expert-level Windows OS management (patching, registry, MSI installs, services)\\r\\n• Strong hands-on experience with macOS and/or Linux endpoint management\\r\\n________________________________________\\r\\n Desired / Good to Have\\r\\n• Integration with Service Now, vulnerability tools (Qualys/Tenable), or SCCM/Intune coexistence\\r\\n• Security baseline enforcement (CIS, Microsoft baselines)\\r\\n• Audit and compliance support experience

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 6–10+ years overall IT experience

  • 3–5+ years hands-on Big Fix endpoint management

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • ITIL / Big Fix certifications preferred
