Share Point Architect (Share Gate / M365 Platform) Summary Owns the Share Point Online information architecture Designs tenant-wide governance (sites, permissions, external sharing, lifecycle). Leads migration strategy using Quest/Share Gate (waves, standards, cutover patterns). Defines security, compliance, and retention patterns (IT Security Policies and Requirements). Establishes site provisioning standards, templates, and architecture. Coaches dev/ops teams and provides architectural oversight during delivery. Ensures performance, scalability, and operational reliability across the platform. Role Overview The Share Point Architect is responsible for end-to-end architecture of the enterprise collaboration platform, with a strong emphasis on leading large-scale migrations and modernization initiatives leveraging Quest/Share Gate. This role defines standards for information architecture, governance, security, compliance, and solution patterns across Share Point Online. Key Responsibilities Define target-state architecture for Share Point Online Lead Quest/Share Gate migration architecture: content inventory, risk scoring, wave planning, mapping, and cutover patterns. Establish governance: provisioning, naming, ownership, lifecycle, external sharing, guest access, and audit controls. Create Azure Runbooks using App Registrations or Managed Identities to run through list of sites and gather or change data. Develop PowerShell scripts to lead discovery of environment, gather metadata, update specific site properties. Establish technical patterns for: Secure permissions (AAD groups, least privilege) Modern pages and web parts Search and metadata strategy Content publishing and brand/UX standards Provide oversight on complex migration exceptions: customizations, workflows, Info Path, legacy solutions. Build architecture artifacts: standards, reference architectures, decision logs, design reviews, runbooks. Partner with program leadership to drive adoption, training, and change management. Qualifications 8+ years in Share Point engineering/architecture; 3+ years in Share Point Online. Deep experience designing or leading enterprise migrations using Share Gate/Quest.
