Job Description – RE Lead

The Hartford’s Reliability Engineering organization is continuously focusing and improving on resiliency, stability and productivity as part of SDLC. This role will focus on customer centric system engineering by collaborating with Day0,1&2 activities

Job Description:

• Up to date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies in DevOps, Cloud Engineering and AI/ML

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation & terraform templates, YAML files, build specifications

• Implementation experience in application centric cloud security and IAM policies

• Highly knowledgeable of Amazon Web Services including but not limited to Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, AWS Connect, Service Catalog.

• Ability to design systems and implement new software architecture patterns.

• Mentor Cloud Engineers and Software Engineers.

• Relevant certifications in AI/ML and cloud platforms (AWS)

• Hands-on experience in definition of requirements and design for generative AI solutions

• Ability to train and fine tune models using large data sets and collaborate with engineering teams on integration of AI models into applications.

• Hands on experience in disaster recovery, high availability, and fault tolerance.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset with a focus on scalable continuous delivery approach

• Hands on experience in using Github, Nexus/Artifactory, Sonar Qube, Checkmarx, Jenkins, Cloud Native DevOps services

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Math, or any Engineering

• 10+ years Python experience

• 15+ years software development experience

• 10+ years software architecture and systems design experience

• Great oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Infrastructure as Code experience, like CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, etc.

• Strong software development knowledge

• Experience in Dev Sec Ops

• Strong technical knowledge of AWS relating to application development.

• Software Architecture or Systems Engineering experience

• Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization and influence leadership.

• Proven ability to lead and work with cross functional teams
