Job Summary

Hartford is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Performance Test Engineer to ensure applications meet enterprise standards for speed, scalability, and stability. This role involves assessing, strategizing, and implementing performance-focused solutions for complex applications and infrastructure observability to maintain production stability and visibility. The position will drive performance and stability improvements for critical business applications, architecture, and integrations to deliver an optimal end-user experience. The engineer will collaborate closely with application development, infrastructure, database, and middleware teams.

Responsibilities

• Design & Develop Test Plans: Create detailed performance test strategies, scenarios, and scripts based on system requirements.

• Execute Performance Tests: Conduct load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests using tools such as Load Runner, JMeter, Gatling, and Grafana k6; analyze results to identify bottlenecks.

• Analyze & Report Findings: Deliver actionable insights through detailed reports and dashboards (e.g., Dynatrace, Grafana) and recommend tuning strategies.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and optimize system design.

• Automation & CI/CD Integration: Implement automated performance testing within pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, AWS Lambda orchestration) for continuous validation.

• Monitoring & Observability: Configure and maintain monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk) for real-time performance tracking and alerting.

Qualifications & Skillset

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in performance testing and engineering.

• Proficiency in Load Runner, JMeter, Gatling, Grafana k6, Dynatrace, and Splunk.

• Knowledge of cloud performance testing and monitoring standards (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Familiarity with Java, Python, or scripting languages.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Dynatrace Certified Associate

• AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher

• AWS Certified AI Practitioner or higher

• Splunk Core Certified Power User
