Job Description: Security Specialist Overview

Enterprise Database Management is seeking a motivated Junior Data Security Specialist to support daytoday operations of database security and monitoring tools. This role is ideal for an earlycareer professional looking to grow expertise in data security, automation, and risk management within a collaborative, Agile environment. The position focuses on execution, analysis, and operational support under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operational activities for database security and monitoring tools.

• Assist with investigation of database activity to identify potential outlier or anomalous behavior.

• Review database vulnerability scan results and help identify trends and remediation opportunities.

• Help maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and security practices aligned with industry benchmarks and internal controls.

• Participate in SOC1, SOC2, and internal audit activities by gathering evidence and supporting documentation.

• Assist with creation of reports related to database activity incidents and compliance status.

• Support implementation and maintenance of security products for vulnerability scanning, access monitoring, and PII identification.

• Work within Agile methodology using Rally to manage assigned tasks and priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Computer science diploma

• 2–4 years of experience in database technologies, data, or information security–related roles.

• Foundational knowledge of database security concepts and vulnerability management.

• Exposure to security tools such as Imperva, j Sonar, PKware, or similar technologies.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic reporting tools.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn new technologies quickly.

• AWS and GCP exposure preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to partner with and support crossteam initiatives
