Autonomous precision manufacturing for aerospace and defense
Manufacturing Engineer, Special Projects
- Hadrian
- Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.
Valued at $1.6B, we’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.
Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.
About the team:
The factories-as-a-service team analyzes our current customers' production and supply chain challenges, builds data-driven presentations, designs and scopes factories of the future, and assists the Federal and Strategic sales team in forming long-term partnerships with the DOD, Primes, and other manufacturers.
This team is responsible for scoping, design, cost, schedule, and technology analysis, as well as proposals for major programs and manufacturing transformations across all manufacturing methods and domains.
With several major programs in flight, we are hiring rapidly for this team that will effectively analyze, design, scope, plan, and handover (or join) execution of large-scale manufacturing efforts.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an early-career Manufacturing Engineer to join our Factories as a Service team—an initiative focused on building, modernizing, and scaling advanced manufacturing systems across aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure.
In this role, you'll support the design, development, and ramp-up of factory lines across multiple processes. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, automation teams, and program leads to review technical drawings, evaluate manufacturing feasibility, and contribute to production and inspection workflows.
This is a high-growth opportunity for someone who’s excited to work across disciplines, develop core manufacturing skills, and help solve real-world industrial challenges.
What You’ll Do:
-
Review part and assembly drawings to assess manufacturing feasibility
-
Assist in developing production workflows and tooling requirements
-
Support Cap Ex research, equipment evaluation, and vendor coordination
-
Provide technical input to automation and inspection planning
What We’re Looking For:
-
1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
-
Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and applying DFM principles
-
Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to work hands-on
-
Interest in building modern manufacturing systems and processes
-
Willingness to travel (~25%) for site visits and vendor interaction
What Will Set You Apart:
-
Exposure to high-mix/low-volume production environments
-
Familiarity with CNC machining, additive, assembly, or precision manufacturing
-
Interest in robotics, automation, or systems integration
For this role, the target salary range is $125,000-$175,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
BENEFITS:
-
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
-
401k
-
Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
-
Flexible vacation policy
