Assortment Planner % Markets at H&M
About the role
As an Assortment Planner % Markets at & Other Stories, you will play a key role in optimizing and adapting our assortment for selected markets and channels to drive responsible growth and commercial success. Rather than building the assortment from the start, you will work with an already defined assortment and shape it to better match local customer needs, sales performance, and market opportunities.
In this role, you will act as an important link between assortment, sales, and market needs. By combining strong analytical capabilities with a commercial and product-focused mindset, you will ensure that the assortment is relevant, well-balanced, and optimized for each market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Monitor sales performance, customer needs, and market feedback to identify opportunities and risks across assigned % markets.
- Optimize an already defined assortment by adjusting product mix, quantities, and selected attributes such as colors to improve local relevance and commercial performance.
- Drive planning and buying decisions on article level, based on sales analysis, market input, and assortment potential.
- Work closely with local stakeholders to understand what is performing well, what needs to be adapted, and where commercial opportunities exist.
- Secure quantification, order follow-up, and stock optimization to support sales targets and budget goals.
- Collaborate with assortment, buying, merchandising, and sales-related stakeholders to ensure a strong and relevant market offer.
- Contribute to seasonal planning, performance follow-up, and ongoing optimization of the local assortment offer for different markets and channels.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:
You will work cross-functionally with a broad range of stakeholders, including local market teams, merchandising partners, buying teams, and other commercial functions. The role sits in the intersection between assortment and sales, where you will translate market insights into actionable assortment decisions and help optimize the offer for selected regions and channels.
WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with commercial awareness and a genuine interest in product and assortment. You are confident working close to the numbers, but also motivated by understanding how assortment decisions can improve the customer offer in different markets.
We believe you have:
- A solid experience within planning, merchandising, buying, or a similar commercial role within the fashion industry.
- Strong skills in quantification, sales analysis, and translating insights into actions on product level.
- Experience of working independently and driving decisions in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- A commercial mindset with an interest in assortment, customer behavior, and market adaptation.
- The ability to balance structure and flexibility.
- Confidence to challenge stakeholders, ask questions, and stand your ground when needed in order to secure the best business outcome.
And who are:
- Structured and organized in your way of working.
- Flexible and solution-oriented.
- Collaborative and comfortable working with many stakeholders.
- Proactive and action-oriented.
- Commercial, curious, and motivated by improving business performance through assortment optimization
