• Build, optimize and deploy platforms for Google data center hardware (server, storage, switch, rack or accelerator) at the global manufacturing partners.

• Partner with the NPI team to define Design for Manufacturing (DFM) requirements and provide input to the manufacturing strategy. Lead NPI early engagement with NPI team and transition to sustaining.

• Provide caliber manufacturing engineering support for new and existing products. Lead product qualification to improve bill of material multi-source and support capacity expansion.

• Analyze, troubleshoot and root cause of manufacturing yield issues and data center field escapes. Drive issues to closure with corrective and preventive measures. Collaborate with Google engineers and manufacturing partner engineers to drive improvement for product manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness including test coverage and reduce cost.

• Drive, support and manage product changes to improve product design or manufacturing performance.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent engineering experience.

• 8 years of experience in product manufacturing, sustaining or development.
