Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. In this role, you will be the primary technical authority for Google TV. You will provide architectural oversight across all local charters. You will act as a bridge architect, collaborating with leadership to define the technical goal while mentoring engineering site on the ground.

Google TV is redefining the TV experience to make it highly personalized, Google-smart, and content-forward to help users access the world’s media. Through recent launches like Chromecast with Google TV, we bring together the best of Google. Google TV is focused on scaling across the OEM ecosystem; working closely with third-party streaming partners plus many teams across Google (for example: Ads, Play, and YouTube); and building a business on TV platforms, OTT devices, and mobile devices. With millions of active users of our products plus being amidst the quickly evolving media and entertainment industry, there are plenty of opportunities for the team and individuals in it.

Responsibilities

• Direct the technical roadmap for Search, Subscriptions, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), ensuring alignment with global Android TV Operating System (OS) standards.

• Partner with United States (US)-based architects to transition Google TV into a Generative AI (GenAI)-native platform.

• Elevate the engineering bar by mentoring and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Work with product and business leaders to identify technical opportunities and de-risk investments.

• Take accountability for the performance and reliability of features across device ecosystem.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in software development.

• 7 years of experience with building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks,

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with media or streaming or OS internals (e.g., Android or Linux).

• Experience in building systems for Daily Active Users (DAU) on resource-constrained hardware.

• Knowledge of integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)/Generative AI into consumer products.
