With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing team focused on delivering a high-performance storage solution.

Responsibilities

Lead a team to deliver a high-performance, client experience for Google Cloud Storage and to build a high-performing team to execute on Storage priority of enabling AI/ML workloads for customers.

Partner with stakeholders and technical leads to define and execute the technical strategy for Storage and ensure the team's roadmap directly supports the goal.

Guide the team through complex architectural decisions and ensure standards for code quality. Improve the end-to-end customer experience.

Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of software engineers while fostering an environment.

Demonstrate customer empathy.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
-
8 years of experience with software development.
-
5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
-
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
-
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
-
Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.
Preferred qualifications
-
Experience with storage technologies and managing a team that built and operated systems at scale.
-
Experience in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (program manager/technical program manager/SRE) and building a roadmap of launches/improvements for specific areas.

Experience in driving a portfolio of concurrent engineering projects running the gamut from short-term critical feature launches to long-term initiatives.

Experience with delighting enterprise customers, and understanding of enterprise workloads.

Ability to work with specialists on system designs and ambiguity.

Ability to understand and guide work within a large, complex codebase.
