About the job

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of Google’s cutting edge compute and storage machines to satisfy Google Data Center internal use and external Cloud customers. The work scope is to ensure the continuous operation of the System Lab, including the networking, and infrastructure such as power/cooling.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. Responsibilities

  • Support various hardware bring up and qualification testing activities by operating various Google proprietary systems and setting up proper network environments.

  • Design and define the robust network topology, provide assistance to establish proper power and cooling infrastructure for medium and low-touch labs with remote control functionality.

  • Develop infrastructure required for managing the fleet of test systems at scale to improve automation and  test execution efficiency. Develop quality data collection, analysis and visualization systems in support of system verification.

  • Support hardware, software and hardware qualification engineers on project planning and ensure adequate resources (networking capability, space, power) are met as required.

  • Interact with various stakeholders to provide assistance to resolve complex lab related issues.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in network (layer 4 and below) troubleshooting with optics, fibers, switches and related network equipment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience on physical machine fleet provisioning in data center-like environments.
  • Experience with networking administration, maintenance, and database management.
  • Experience with software development languages, particularly Python, Linux or other Unix operating systems such as Ubuntu, and RHEL, etc.
  • Understanding of computer systems like Server, Storage, or GPU system architecture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage the needs of multiple lab users
