The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities

Lead the holistic hardware design and integration of power systems (e.g., AC/DC, DC/DC, battery charging) from concept to mass production.

Define, implement, and validate the Engineering Requirement Specification (ERS) for power delivery networks, ensuring stringent performance and quality benchmarks.

Utilize knowledge of power IC principles to drive architectural decisions and resolve technical challenges in power integrity and electronic system integration.

Serve as the technical lead for power models and battery life, mediating conflicts and coordinating alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.

Communicate system-level power issues to partners and internal teams, and support validation efforts which may require domestic or international travel.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
-
4 years of experience working in a consumer or wearable electronics system design technical environment.
-
Experience in one or more of the following: architecture, power/battery, low/high speed interface (e.g., MIPI, SPI, I2C, DDR, USB, I2S/PDM), analog engineering, and connectivity.

Experience in power design and power engineering.
Preferred qualifications
-
5 years of experience in power system design.

Knowledge of electronic system integration, power integrity and verification.

Knowledge of power electronics (e.g., AC/DC or DC/DC), battery charging, power delivery network, and on-board power design.

Knowledge on power IC principles (e.g., Buck, Boost, LDO, Charger, etc.).
-
Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically or Internationally as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
