The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Lead wearables acoustic architecture design and simulation.

Define optimized micro-speaker integration and microphone porting guidelines, including wind noise mitigation.

Conduct acoustic simulations (lumped sum and finite element methods) and lab testing of acoustic modules and products to validate performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional design, engineering, product, operations teams to achieve acoustic solutions balancing ambitious performance, space, cost, and user experience goals.

Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to scope new components and technologies.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

4 years of experience in acoustic design and simulation on consumer electronic products.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

6 years of experience including leading acoustic design and simulation for consumer electronics.

Experience with acoustic test tools (e.g., Sound Check, Klippel, Audio Precision, Polytec, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g., Abaqus, COMSOL, Ares, etc.).

Experience in shipping end-to-end acoustic solutions, from product concept through production.

Experience leading acoustic solutions for mobile phone, wearable, or hearable products.

Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including translating technical tradeoffs to customer impact, influencing product decisions, navigating and resolving ambiguity.
