The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
-
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
-
Partner with research teams and Google Deep Mind to productize models and technology on the Vertex AI platform, bridging the gap between research and real-world applications.

Design and implement robust cloud APIs and services for model deployment and management, ensuring seamless integration and user experience. This includes monitoring, prober setting, testing, and other critical components for operational excellence.

Build infrastructure and services that enable model quality and evaluation processes, ensuring models meet the highest standards of accuracy and robustness.

Work closely with product managers to gain deep insights into customer requirements and translate them into actionable product features and enhancements.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
-
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
-
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
-
3 years of experience with developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
-
Experience in C++, machine learning infrastructure, and distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
-
5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
-
Experience in ML infra and systems experience in large scale data processing that involves image/video/audio.
-
Experience developing accessible technologies.
-
Domain knowledge in LLM, computer vision, etc.
-
Familiar with ML infrastructure and framework, and Google ML platform.
