The Pixel Camera team is a collection of sub-teams organized around different parts of the camera stack, with some teams focused on Pixel and some focused on the Android ecosystem, the mission is to build software experiences on the Pixel phones that leads the entire Android ecosystem.

In this role, you will develop the technologies that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the Pixel camera system software stack, from concept to execution.

• Introduce camera technologies to deliver an industry-leading mobile camera experience for the users.

• Measure optimize, monitor, and improve system stability, performance, and overall software quality.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple organizations to ensure product delivery and maximize impact.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in C++ programming language.

• 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.

• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Linux development, Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) development, device driver development, or camera system development.

• Ability to develop software solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work separately and collaboratively.
