Responsibilities
-
Drive Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) characterization and analysis for Google and competitor So Cs, including but not limited to power breakdowns, power/performance bench-marking, IP-level power, Use case power, performance, thermals, power efficiency, etc.

Compare Google So Cs, use case power and performance with competing So Cs.
-
Analyze Various use cases across full software and hardware stack, propose and drive power optimizations, both hardware and software, throughout the design process from concept to mass productization.

Create custom CPU/GPU/ other IP micro benchmarks to surface architecture bottlenecks.

Perform breakdowns of competitor devices’ to enable IP level power measurements and analysis.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
-
8 years of experience with computer architecture concepts, including micro-architecture, cache hierarchy, pipelining, and memory subsystems.
-
6 years of experience in Use Case power analysis on mobile So Cs, with focus on Use case Performance per Watt optimization across full stack.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.

8 years of use case Performance per Watt optimization and in Android or similar Operating system from framework layer to Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and SoC.

Experience with Android Entities like Surface Flinger, Media Server or System Server.

Experience with Multimedia, Imaging, Connectivity Software Stacks in Android/similar OS.
