The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and productionize features for the Cloud Admission Controller (CloudAC) to manage the scalable capacity model for Google Compute Engine (GCE).

• Engineer smarter admission control mechanisms and optimization strategies to ensure the most efficient utilization of infrastructure, directly impacting cost and performance.

• Develop and integrate features to support an increasingly complex hardware fleet, including managing specific requirements for various accelerators such as TPUs and GPUs.

• Innovate architectural solutions to address scale growth as the demand for computing resources continues to expand.

• Lead project priorities for small-to-moderate complexity initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and define technical roadmaps.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience programming in C++.

• Experience architecting and developing distributed systems.

• Experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

• 2 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C, Python, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go.

• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure.
