The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team guides customers through the moments that matter most in their cloud journey to help businesses thrive. As an Enterprise Architect, you will work with customers in helping transform their businesses through the innovative use of Google Cloud Platform. You will work cross-functionally, providing pre-sales enterprise architecture support, solutions delivery and migration, and engineering expertise for Google’s largest customers. As part of the professional services team, you will work on customer Request for Proposal (RFPs) and proposal processes, partnering with sales and customer engineering counterparts to deliver technical architecture and services strategy. You will help inform the scope of services staffing and timelines.

You will advise customers on architecture best practices and architectural blueprints as the foundation for migration to Google Cloud. You are part of a team that will propose, develop, and implement new approaches and strive for execution consistency and repeatability for these engagements. You will represent and deliver best practices across the areas of infrastructure, application, data modernization and more. You will collaborate cross-functionally within Google and support our services partner community.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills and leadership to customers on enterprise-wide cloud architecture and migration planning for scoping during both the presales process and delivery.

• Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, and application architectures required to successfully implement complete solutions using best practices on Google Cloud, while driving the capture, development, and sharing of best practices internally and externally to scale expertise to accelerate implementation.

• Engage at executive technical stakeholder level with customers providing a single technical point of contact for the customer into the consulting delivery team.

• Provide technical architecture and enterprise-wide Google Cloud subject matter expertise.

• Oversee technical delivery excellence, exceptional customer satisfaction, and accurate estimation of customer outcomes in partnership with the Delivery Executive and Program Manager.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 7 years of experience in customer-facing services, focused on translating enterprise customer needs into cloud solutions (e.g., IaaS, SaaS).

• Experience writing code in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C, C++, etc.).

• Experience in developing solution architectures through system design techniques (e.g., distributed systems, designing a system under certain constraints, simplicity, limitations, and tradeoffs).

• Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently in order to engage local customers and cross-regional stakeholders.

• Ability to travel upto 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience architecting and developing software or internet-scale production-grade infrastructure/migration solutions in virtualized environments, and demonstrated cloud architectural expertise with a broad set of enterprise use cases.

• Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, and third-party developers to deliver successful solutions.

• Experience designing and deploying distributed data processing systems.

• Experience in infrastructure automation, DevOps, or Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).

• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), data protection, encryption, certificate, and key management.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
