About the job

At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will lead the evolution of video creation within Google Photos. You will have a blend of creative and technical strengths. You will ensure we offer editing capabilities so users can achieve goals within the Photos app, while driving the future of assisted storytelling leveraging the power of Gemini and personal context, and generative differentiators.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and align executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on product goals and strategy for Photo’s video editing capabilities.

  • Develop and own the video editing feature roadmap. Author Product Requirements Document (PRDs) that serve users and business needs by working with Research, Design, Analytics, and Engineering. Execute work-streams to take products from conception to launch, including iterative development with user research and production experiment data. Deliver quality experiences on iOS and Android.

  • Advocate the product goal across the team. Leverage the strengths of the cross-functional team to mitigate risks and capture new opportunities. Collaborate with related product areas to deliver Photos-wide and Google-wide user experiences.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.

  • 3 years of experience in taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).

  • Experience in building consumer-facing products.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with creator economy, video editing or photography/videography.

  • Experience in working on consumer-facing User Interface (UI) products, and with mobile apps (e.g., iOS/Android).

  • Experience with Generative AI technologies and how they can be applied to user problems.

  • Experience in using data and analytics to drive product growth and optimize user engagement metrics.

  • Ability to work in an organizational setup, collaborating with teams across different time zones and geographies.
