In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
The Android XR team is a group of experts tasked with building Google's next generation computing platform of XR devices, the helpful applications and services that deliver user value, and the underlying technologies that will enable the ecosystem. We are focused on making immersive and ambient computing accessible to billions of people through mobile and XR devices and our scope continues to grow and evolve.
For decades, the computing revolution has reshaped our world driven by breakthroughs in compute, connectivity, mobile, and now, AI. Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Define the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for a specific XR devices and define the frameworks for quality and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be used for this XR device class; drive quality hill climbs.

Drive the hardware requirements for devices based on goals and desired experiences and drive relationships with external partners, including OEMs and other strategic partners, to ship devices.

Collaborate with platform, input, SysUI, Apps, and AI teams to integrate plans into the device strategy. Collaborate deeply with UX and UX Research teams to define delightful and intuitive devices.

Cultivate ongoing relationships and collaborate closely with internal XR product managers and cross-functional partners. Own execution of internal milestones (e.g., internal scaled testing) to drive product insights pre-launch.

Conduct analysis of engaged products to inform approach to market and product strategy.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, 0 to 1, etc).
Preferred qualifications
-
MBA or equivalent practical experience.
-
2 years of experience in the XR industry, including launches and research.

Experience defining holistic strategies for new product areas.
-
Experience delivering zero-to-one products and technologies (e.g., new technology introduction).

Experience working with external partners to jointly ship products.
