  • Work to drive DFM and DFA efforts from early NTI to prototype to mass production, working closely with internal and external partners and contract manufacturers.

  • Own and develop comprehensive requirements documents and tolerance stackup analyses to ensure performance and reliability of tightly constrained glasses through the conditions expected by mass production consumer hardware.

  • Be an advocate for the team and be responsible for helping individuals grow and succeed.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 12 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.

  • 12 years of experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as NX or Solidworks.

  • 12 years of experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA).

  • 4 years of experience leading multiple engineering teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.

  • 8 years of experience with consumer electronics with a focus on miniaturization, integration, and manufacturing of system design.

  • Experience with executing designs for precision mechanical systems, including kinematic design and tolerance analyses.

  • Experience in scaled manufacturing, including manufacturing process and line design, bring-up, and optimization.

  • Knowledge of optimal selection processes of materials, adhesives, and coatings used in optical systems.

  • Knowledge of end-to-end consumer electronics development processes and an ability to adapt development approaches to designs, from prototypes to scaled manufacturing.
