As a Mechanical Technician, you'll ensure 24/7 reliability of our physical infrastructure. Your core duties involve operating, monitoring, and supporting Mechanical systems critical to data center performance, including: Water pumps and treatment systems, chillers, HVAC and advanced control and monitoring systems. You'll regularly inspect, maintain, and repair these systems. Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components, completing planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions, including reacting promptly to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and responding to HVAC-related client problems.
- Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and control/monitoring systems.
- Provide daily assistance to technicians as you read blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct system tours, and assess their working order.
- Ensure all safety processes and requirements are followed and conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
Minimum qualifications

Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment.

Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 23 kg of equipment, the required use of safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses in accordance with safety and ergonomic guidelines and assessments.

Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts.
Preferred qualifications
- 2 years of experience in maintenance of mechanical/cooling distribution systems or construction/technical environment, or in a related field.
- Experience in data centers, hospitals, or power plants.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems such as Cooling Towers systems, water chemistry, water pumps used in a data center environment (e.g., chillers, air handling units, pumps and CRAC/CRAH units).
- Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data center systems.
- Ability to communicate in French to engage in day-to-date operations, and with colleagues.
