Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).

5 years of experience developing or launching products or technologies within cloud storage, infrastructure, or capacity planning areas.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in storage hardware, supply chain, cost optimization, or related product management roles.
- 10 years of experience in owning business case work to drive strategic investment decisions in products for senior leadership such as build/buy/partner.
- Experience serving as a "chief storyteller" or "Editor-in-Chief" for technical product lines, with a portfolio of high-impact external content (e.g., blogs, whitepapers, or keynote presentations).
- Ability to deeply engage with engineering leadership on architecture and features, translating complex technical truths into clear business benefits without losing accuracy.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
The Storage team is a critical part of Google Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It is responsible for providing core Storage products in Cloud (e.g., Cloud Storage, File Solutions, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Storage Management, Data Transfer Solutions). This team is also responsible for the Storage infrastructure that is the foundation for all of Google including products (e.g., Google Search, Ads, YouTube, Photos, Workspace, etc.).
In this role, you will own the capacity optimization for Google's Storage portfolio of products across the Technical Infrastructure layers of the stack all the way to Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., Google Cloud Storage, Lustre, Filestore, etc.). You will work closely with several teams to build products that make our customers' experiences as seamless as possible in scaling their footprint on GCP.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$334,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Own the capacity allocation framework for the Google Technical Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform business, translating complex technical innovations into a return-on-investment and business framework for technical architects and C-suite executives.
- Partner across Capacity Planning, Product, and Engineering teams to align capacity planning and ordering workflows, ensuring product launches and go-to-market efforts are backed by seamless capabilities to deliver for our customers.
- Lead the strategy for forecasting and planning systems and coordinate cross-functional execution to build supply chain systems.
- Partner with teams to bring in critical trends from the Storage media industry (e.g., HDD, SSD) to influence our strategy for capacity management and secure leadership positioning for Storage services.
- Ensure that Google remains a trusted cloud platform.
