About the job

The Consumer Experience Operations organization collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Marketing, Data Science and Legal, to identify and address user pain points and improve the overall support experience. Our team is tasked with developing innovative and user-centric support solutions that address the evolving needs of YouTube's user base — across NFL Sunday Ticket, YouTube TV, and YouTube Music and Premium, as well as Shopping and Fan Funding — with the goal of delivering an exceptional experience while increasing growth. We drive the implementation of self-service tools and automated support workflows, and we equip support agents with the knowledge, tools and skills to provide high quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and grow a brand new team with a mission to bring the world's media rights holders to YouTube and help them grow.

  • Drive the growth of Media Company (MediaCos) on YouTube, both the number of Media Cos with pay-gated content and their success.

  • Build premium features in YouTube Studio for Media Cos. Take ownership of storage infrastructure, workflow, pipelines for managing and publishing content to YouTube systems.

  • Establish appropriate incentives and performance standards to influence Media companies to provide high quality videos and metadata on YouTube. Manage integration with third-party metadata providers.

  • Set a healthy engineering culture in psychological safety and collaboration.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with catalog quality, data pipelines, user-facing tools and flows.
  • Experience building enterprise-facing software, for providers in two-sided marketplaces.
  • Experience in building and improving new data ingestion and processing systems, including rapid iteration or prototyping and ability to pivot based on user feedback.
  • Ability to build a new team to help grow premium movies, shows, and sports on YouTube worldwide.
