Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop imaging system simulation tools for Google's consumer hardware products.

  • Define simulation workflows, capabilities, and performance goals, and validate against real hardware.

  • Investigate imaging performance goals for multi-camera systems.

  • Perform experimental evaluations of imaging system performance to validate functionality.

  • Collaborate with our partners in System Product Design (PD)/Electrical Engineering (EE), Camera Hardware, and XR software teams.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience working in a imaging systems simulation environment.

  • Experience with software development in Python and Matlab.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).

  • Experience in one or more of the following: optical design, image sensor design and characterization, photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, 3D modeling and rendering, computer vision.

  • Experience developing tools or performing simulation to map imaging hardware design to camera performance metrics.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
