Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Develop imaging system simulation tools for Google's consumer hardware products.
-
Define simulation workflows, capabilities, and performance goals, and validate against real hardware.

Investigate imaging performance goals for multi-camera systems.

Perform experimental evaluations of imaging system performance to validate functionality.

Collaborate with our partners in System Product Design (PD)/Electrical Engineering (EE), Camera Hardware, and XR software teams.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience working in a imaging systems simulation environment.

Experience with software development in Python and Matlab.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).

Experience in one or more of the following: optical design, image sensor design and characterization, photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, 3D modeling and rendering, computer vision.

Experience developing tools or performing simulation to map imaging hardware design to camera performance metrics.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
