The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team guides customers through the moments that matter most in their cloud journey to help businesses thrive. As an Application Modernization Cloud Consultant, you will work directly with Google’s customers on critical application development and modernization projects to help them transform their businesses. You will provide consulting, program management and technical expertise to customers while working with client executives and key technical leaders to drive adoption of modern applications and cloud native products on Google Cloud Platform. You will work with customers on application re-design and implementation, including application scaling, reliability, and ongoing operations such as application and feature rollouts, monitoring, and more. Additionally, you will work closely with product management and product engineering to build and facilitate excellence in our products.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve cloud architecture software development tests. Take technical accountability for the success of cloud solutions, actively shaping their overall architecture.

• Create and execute enterprise application assessment and migration strategies and recommend approaches and estimated effort for application migration and modernization programs.

• Work with customers to design technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations. Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical tests for customers.

• Translate business and application needs into clear technical requirements through effective communication with clients and technical teams. Manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.

• Travel up to 30% of the time.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience in project managing and delivering technical solutions.

• Experience with architecting, developing, and maintaining technical solutions by leveraging virtual machines, containers (e.g., Kubernetes/GKE), serverless computing, or software defined networking (SDN).

• Experience working in a cloud computing environment (i.e., infrastructure, storage, platforms or data).

• Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently to engage with clients in the region.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with customer-facing migrations, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.

• Experience with project managing and delivering technical solutions.

• Experience reading software code in one or more languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, or Python).

• Experience with Kubernetes or GKE.

• Experience in systems design, with the ability to architect or explain systems interactions including data flows, common interfaces, APIs, and methods available.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
