The Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team guides customers through the moments that matter most in their cloud journey to help businesses grow. As a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide exceptional technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services which includes providing best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more. You will also provide prescriptive guidance in ensuring that customers receive the best of what GCP can offer and have the best experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications in GCP. Additionally, you will work with product management and product engineering to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

Responsibilities

• Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure, solving cloud platform issues.

• Design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives by working with customers.

• Guide customers through technical issues by providing expertise and troubleshooting solutions.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• 6 years of experience architecting and deploying scalable, secure infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), IaC (Infrastructure as Code), DevOps, and CI/CD processes.

• Experience designing and implementing cloud enterprise solutions for including Professional Services or Technical Consulting experience.

• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C, or C++), including data structures, algorithms, and software design.

• Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese or Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Possession of a Google Professional Cloud Certification, such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.

• Experience with cost optimization (Fin Ops), observability (logging and monitoring), and resource management on Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience in data center exit and public cloud migration to GCP and in AI agents to automate, expedite, and de-risk infrastructure migrations.

• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) and high-availability networking solutions (e.g., VPC, Cloud Firewall).

• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies, specifically orchestrating containerized workloads via Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

• Excellent project management and communication skills.
