As part of the App Platform effort, Cloud Asset Platform team is a critical enabler for GCP App-Centric, AI-first, and enterprise-readiness strategy. In this role, you will help the team to achieve this ambitious goal by building the following foundational platform capabilities:

GCP's highly available, low-latency key-value store for dynamic resource attributes. ResourceDB aims to provide GCP first-party clients with a central repository to store and serve dynamic resource attributes across GCP and various multi-cloud environments, delivering good data freshness, high uptime, low latency, and an intuitive onboarding experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Make technical contributions to design distributed systems and build highly scalable serving systems (many billions scale, highly dynamic).

• Own the design, architecture and implementation strategies for sub-systems with massive scale and high throughput (millions of QPS).

• Establish and maintain high technical standards, ensuring code quality, reliability, and performance.

• Collaborate with PMs, Engineering leads, and partner teams to define the goals and drive the strategic roadmap.

• Participate in engineering engagement with internal teams across sites and external partners, influence and manage relationships with them.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

• Experience across the following areas: backend, infrastructure design, build systems, large-scale data processing.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

• Experience in designing and building high throughput and low latency backend systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems and developing at scale.

• Ability to design and deliver large-scale systems.

• Ability to collaborate with other software engineers (SWE), team leads (TL), and engineering managers, and to build and maintain strong working relationships across organizations.

• Ability to solve ambiguous problems that span across multiple components/domains.
