With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities

Develop modem software and verify modem feature functionalities and performance for NTN (IoT-NTN and NR-NTN) and DTC (LTE and NR DTC).

Solve system-level mobility, latency, and Doppler issues in satellite networks to enhance NTN user experience including voice, data, and power efficiency.

Identify and implement modem software and hardware optimizations to minimize power drain, including algorithm tuning, power state management, and RF front-end interaction.

Identify performance scenarios and recreate the scenario in the lab environment for research and development for optimized solutions. Work with test teams to define validation strategies and root-cause issues found during lab testing with satellite emulators and field trials.

Debug, analyze, and fix modem issues from factory, certification, field, and end users. Work with vendors and solution providers on modem protocol design.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

7 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C/C++).

Experience in cellular modem software development or protocol stack engineering (LTE, NR, or IoT).
Preferred qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science in the field of wireless communications.

Experience with 3GPP protocol layers (e.g., RRC, NAS, MAC, RLC, PDCP, or PHY) and NTN.

Experience on modem function and performance troubleshooting in lab, field, and carrier tests.

Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) in embedded environments.
-
Understanding of wireless communication fundamentals and debugging modem issues.
