Our team develops and deploys manufacturing software to improve Pixel camera calibration focusing on areas, including auto white balance, autofocus, lateral chromatic aberration, lens shading, lens distortion, multi-camera geometric calibration, and phase detect autofocus.

In this role, you will be working with scientists and engineers to research, build, and deploy camera systems.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy manufacturing ready end-to-end calibration solutions including algorithms, software, methodology and hardware.

  • Lead and drive cross-functional decisions on hardware and software development and architecture.

  • Build quality evaluation and reporting systems. Debug and report on factory calibration issues.

  • Analyze calibrations across factory, prototype, software, and end user experience.

  • Innovate improvements in software and factory processes.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience using one of programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++/C# to do statistical methods (6s, SPC, Cpk) for data analytics.

  • 2 years of experience working in imaging systems and camera technology.

  • 2 years of experience in factory tests and calibrations for consumer electronics products for NPI and mass production.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).

  • Experience designing and executing development projects with a Design of Experiment (DOE) approach to service, troubleshoot, and solve engineering problems.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
